Description
This is a scarce badge for the Sons of Veterans Reserve (SVR), a Grand Army of the Republic auxiliary organization. At first a training organization, the SVR was formed in 1903 and is now a ceremonial part of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War. The badge shows an eagle bearing and enameled SRV crest with the words FILO VETERANORUM (son of a veteran) on a banner overhead.
VINTAGE:Circa 1900's - 1910's.
SIZE:Approximately 1-1/8" in height x 1-1/8" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass with enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal pin with C catch.

CONDITION:8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The badge shows light tarnishing concentrated in mostly one area with a few very small spots of oxidation and all enamel is intact.
