ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1900 Scottish clan badge for Clan MacNeil of Colonsay. A branch of the main MacNeil (or MacNeill) clan of Argyl, the MacNeils of Colonsay use their own independent motto upon their badge: "Vincere Aut Mori" ("Conquer or Die"). It has an armoured arm with dagger at the center of the encircling garter. The badge is in heavy silver-plated brass and was made in Scotland.

VINTAGE: Circa 1900.

SIZE: Approximately 1-15/16" in height and 1-9/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Silver-plated brass.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal T-style pin with C catch.

MARKINGS: MADE IN SCOTLAND.
