ARTIFACT: This is a scarce 1960s United States Air Force 490th Strategic Missile Squadron jacket patch in a large size. The squadron was the 490th Bombardment Squadron from 1955 until its deactivation in June 1961, and then became the 12th Strategic Missile Squadron on December 18, 1961. The patch shows a sword and lightning bolts targeting a bull's-eye target upon a castle wall.

VINTAGE: Circa 1960s.

SIZE: Approximately 4-7/8" in height and 3-7/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Fully embroidered in cotton/polyester/silk threads.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: None.

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The patch shows some light wear.
