ARTIFACT: This is a Scarce 1930's United State Shipping Board (USSB) Officer Bullion Hat Badge. The Shipping Board, or War Shipping Board, was a regulatory agency in effect from January 1917 until March 1934. The badge is embroidered in gold bullion and silk thread and shows a large golden eagle above a red, white and blue shield.

VINTAGE: Circa 1930s.

SIZE: Approximately Badge: 3-1/16" x 3" Band: 27-3/4" x 1-5/8"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Cotton embroidered in bullion and silk/cotton threads

ATTACHMENT: Elasticized band.

MARKINGS: N/A
