Description
Scarce 1930's Boston, Massachusetts Police Lieutenant Badge Series 7 with 2nd type numbering on reverse. The center of the badge features the Seal of the City of Boston and reads: "BOSTONIA CONDITA AD 1630" and surrounding it reads: "SICUT PATRIBUS SIT DEUS NOBLS CIVITATIS REGIMINE DONATA AD 1822". The badge is topped with the Arm of Miles Standish and just below reads: "LIEUTENANT POLICE" and the base of the badge: "BOSTON" in embossed lettering. This sunburst/clamshell/radiator style, Series #7 style badge was used in the Massachusetts capital for just about 40 years, from 1920 until 195The reverse displays a round plate with second type numbering: "3005" and the original pin and locking forked catch.

CONDITION:8 (Excellent-): The badge shows minor to moderate wear mostly to high points and the top and bottom tips of the badge, much of the gold plating details remain intact, overall excellent condition.
