Description

ARTIFACT:

Rare 1930's Boston Police Captain Badge Series 7 with 2nd type numbering on reverse. This sunburst/clamshell/radiator style, Series #7, was used in the Massachusetts capital for just about 40 years, from 1920 until 195It is typical to find badges of this series with pin repairs and re-plating done during the period of use. The badge has the Seal of the City of Boston at center and above it reads: "CAPTAIN" in painted detail and below "POLICE" and it is topped by the Arm of Miles Standish. The base of the badge reads: "BOSTON" in embossed lettering. It is numbered on reverse "2113", interestingly this badge actually has two number discs soldered right on top of each other is it could have the 1st numbering style disc below.
