Scarce 1870's - 80's Chase's Brookline Express Brass Baggage Tag #78 by R. Woodman of Boston

Scarce 1870's - 1880's Chase's Brookline Express brass baggage check made by R. Woodman of Boston. The tag shows the #78 in the center with black painted detail and above it is stamped: "CHASE'S BROOKLINE EXPRESS". The top edge features a maker's stamp that reads: "R. WOODMAN. BOSTON". Baggage tags made by R. Woodman are rare and hard to find - as is information about the maker, a unique aspect of his designs relate to the use of italicized numbers, the only other maker doing so was Rand Avery.
