ARTIFACT:

This is a rare World War II United States Marine Corps leather name patch for an Anti-Tank Officer, 1st Lieutenant Ferris L. Wharton, Regimental Weapons Co, 21st Marines, 3rd MAR Division. Wharton was killed in action (KIA) July 20, 1944 on Guam during Operation Forager (the capture & occupation of Guam). Wharton was from Delaware.

VINTAGE:

Circa World War II.

SIZE:

Approximately 1-15/16" in height by 3-3/8" in width.
