Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a rare World War II sleeve flag as worn by members of the United States Army 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions during the Operation Market Garden jumps in September of 194At the time of this combined Allied mission over Germany and the Netherlands, Operation Market Garden was the largest ever of its kind. The 101st and 82nd were both part of the four of the six First Allied Airborne Army divisions involved, referred to as "Market"; the cooperating XXX Corps was known as "Garden". The flag is in printed cotton and shows an American flag with 48 stars.

VINTAGE:

Circa World War II.

SIZE:

Approximately 5-1/2" in height and 7" in length.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Printed cotton.

ATTACHMENT:

To be sewn onto uniform.
