ARTIFACT:
This is an enameled World War II badge for the Luftwaffe's Reconnaissance Group 123 Squadron 2 (Aufklärungsgruppe 123 2 Staffel). This squadron provided long-range reconnaissance in many locales, including France and Italy, and was present at the Battle of Britain. The badge shows an eagle clutching a scope.
VINTAGE:
Circa World War II.
SIZE:
Approximately 3/4" in height and 5/8" in width.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Plated brass, enamel.
ATTACHMENT:
Vertical safety-style pin, saddle.
