Description
This is a rare World War II cruise book for the United States Navy USS Samuel Chase Attack Transport (APA-26). Launched August 23, 1941 USS Samuel Chase was initially a Maritime Commission ship. She was operated by the United States Coast Guard during the war, delivering Army troops on D-Day. The book contains a roster several pages long and comes with eight period snapshots from around the world, including Salerno, Italy and later Otaru, Japan during the Occupation.
VINTAGE:Circa 1945-1946.
SIZE:60 pages with black and white photographs; approximately 8-1/2" in height and 11" in width and ¼" in thickness; largest photo measures about 4" by 5".
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Textured paper cover, paper, photographs, plastic binding comb, plastic back cover.
ATTACHMENT:Plastic comb binding.
MARKINGS:"EXAMINED" and "RESTRICTED" stamp on reverse of two photos; writing on reverse of 3 of the photos.

CONDITION:7- (Very Fine-): The last few pages of the book are stapled together because they have partially ripped away from the comb; some staining inside covers with no writing in the book.
