Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a rare Model 1892 United States Marine Corps enlisted man undress cap EGA. This model of eagle, globe and anchor was worn on slouch hats during the Spanish-American War.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1890's.

SIZE:

Approximately 1-9/16" in height and 1-9/16" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Brass.

ATTACHMENT:

Bendable prong. Originally prongs, one is long gone.

MARKINGS:

None.

CONDITION:

7 (Very Fine): The EGA shows some light wear and has a handsome tarnish. One of the original wire prongs on back is not present, and appears to have come off a long time ago.
