ARTIFACT:
This is a rare World War II American Theater Wing "Wings" badge in sterling silver. The creator of the Tony Award, the group was a part of the World War II Allied Relief Fund which encouraged theatrical education but also supported servicemen and families of veterans. The badge is a heavily enameled sterling silver wing with a blue mask at center and the words AMER. THEATRE WING on a banner.
VINTAGE:
Circa World War II.
SIZE:
Approximately 15/16" in height and 2-7/16" in length.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:
Gold-plated sterling silver with enamel. 9.58 grams.
ATTACHMENT:
Horizontal pin with come-under locking catch.
