This is a rare and real World War II United States Army gilder troops (paraglider) badge made in the United Kingdom by J.R. Gaunt. The badge is a pair of unfurling wings encircling a glider and has a period applied "combat jump" star.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 11/16" in height 1-1/2" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Silver-plated brass.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal Y-pin pin with C catch.
MARKINGS:J.R. GAUNT.
ITEM NOTES:This is from a United States Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAJJX11 LDGEX5/11 SDEJX3/12
CONDITION:7 (Very Fine): The badge shows some light wear and tarnish and some small areas of oxidation around the center.
