Description
This is a very rare 1946 United States Army 11th Airborne Glider Troops qualifying badge made at Sendai, Japan. The 11th Airborne completed the most consequential Pacific Theatre combat glider landing at Aparri, and participated in the raid of Luzon and the liberation of Manila. Their many rescue and aid missions earned them their "Angels" nickname. This insignia is a variation showing a narrower glider than usual.
