ARTIFACT: This is a rare circa early World War II numbered shoulder strap badge for PAA Africa (also known as PAA Ferries). Roosevelt and Churchill approached Pan Am to form a subsidiary that would have outposts in Africa, and the venture became instrumental in supplying Allied troops in Egypt and Sudan. The pin is gold-filled and is numbered on reverse.

VINTAGE: Circa early World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 1/2" in height and 1-1/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gold-filled.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal pin with drop-in locking swivel catch.

MARKINGS: 1600 1/20-10K.

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The pin shows some light wear and tarnish.
