Description
This is a rare Korean War fighter squadron jacket patch for the South African Air Force (SAAF) Squadron 2, also known as the "Flying Cheetahs". The Cheetahs were attached to the United States Air Force 18th Fighter Bomber Wing from November 1950 until December 195They flew F-51D Mustangs and F-86F Sabre jets. The patch shows the winged upper body of a cheetah and reads UPWARDS AND ONWARDS.
VINTAGE:Circa Korean War.
SIZE:Approximately 5" in diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Fully embroidered in cotton/silk thread.
