ARTIFACT: This is a rare circa early to mid-1930s Austrian Aero Club (Osterreichische Aero-Club = OAeC) bronze grade glider badge. The OAeC was established in 1901. The front of the badge has three enameled gulls and a small shield with the Austrian flag colors. The badge is numbered 1142 on reverse and has a Viennese maker mark.

VINTAGE: Circa early-mid 1930s.

SIZE: Approximately 1-13/16" in height and 1-1/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Plated brass, enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin with C catch.

MARKINGS: 1142; A.B.E. LADASNACHE WIEN VII BERGGASSE 40.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a foreign militaria collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAJJX16 LEEJX10/16

CONDITION: 7- (Very Fine-): The badge shows some light to medium wear and tarnish; a few small chips to the enamel.
