Description
This is a rare circa 1940 officer's cap badge for the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). The officers of the CCC received this new insignia starting in April 1940 after civilians replaced Reserve member officers. The large badge is gold-plated and has an eagle beneath three capital Cs. The motto "Semper Patria Mea" (Always My Country) is along a banner the bottom.
VINTAGE:Circa 1940.
SIZE:Approximately 2-3/16" in height and 1-11/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gold-plated.
ATTACHMENT:Single screw post with disc backing, stabilization posts.
MARKINGS:ACID TEST.
