ARTIFACT: A beautiful early war Model 1939 Wound Badge in Silver Grade in the rarely-seen case of issue in a subdued but correct color of scarlet red. This example made even more rare by being manufactured in Austria! No maker marks on the badge, but a lovely little blue & white label is still intact on the bottom of the case reading: HAUPTMUNZAMT WEIN III. The badge is an early war example in heavy silver-plated tombak, and it has a lovely soft patina.

VINTAGE: Circa 1939 (early WWII).

SIZE: Approximately 1-3/4" in height and 1-7/16" in width (without case).

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Heavy silver plated tombak; velvet lined cardboard case.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical kick pin with squared C catch; hinge on case.

MARKINGS: HAUPTMUNZAMT WEIN III on bottom of case.

ITEM NOTES: This is from an early WWII Nazi wound badge collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAJJX14 LBGEX7/14 SLBCEX4/16

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The badge has some light wear/tarnish and a lovely soft patina.
