Rare, but rough M1874 Indian Wars Dyer Cartridge Pouch for .45/70 carbines and rifles. Also known as the 'Custer Pouch', the front flap reads: "US" in embossed letters - holes surrounding it may be from a state Guard plate attached a later time. The front flap closure also features a brass disc and a slide lock knob closure. The inside shows the inspector mark: "W. L. F." and the initials: "CD" or "OD" - these could be a company designation or owner's initials. The reverse features two leather straps for attachment to a belt and overall the leather shows heavy worm damage and the interior lamb's wool lining is missing.

CONDITION:5+ (Fine-): The cartridge pouch shows moderate to heavy wear, the leather has stiffened and shows heavy worm damage and the lambswool liner is gone, the reverse shows separation on the (viewer's) top, left side, overall the leather shows age and storage wear.
