Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a United States Marine Corps enlisted man hat badge from the Spanish-American War. The badge is an eagle, globe and anchor, and would have been worn on the side of a "Rough Rider"-style "campaign" hat, holding the flap up to the side. The badge is made of thin stamped brass and very lightweight.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1898.

SIZE:

Approximately 1-1/2" in height and 1-1/2" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Stamped brass.

ATTACHMENT:

Two prongs.
