Description
Rare and beautiful WWII United States Navy 97th Seabees plaque or bookend in heavy cast aluminum. Nicely painted, the plaque depicts the squadron emblem of a "Fighting Bee", the logo was originally designed by Frank J. Iafrate, in early 194Beneath the bee it reads: "SEABEES" in yellow block letters and the top of the bookend reads: "USNR 97 CONSTRUCTION BATTALION", during WWII the BN was stationed in different bases across Great Britain. The plaque is likely made from melted aircraft parts.
