ARTIFACT: This is a rare and beautiful French Air Force 259th Observer Squadron badge from the 1920s. The badge is a slender ring supporting a winged insect who holding two periscopes to his eyes. The insect is enameled in vibrant red and orange-yellow.

VINTAGE: Circa 1920s.

SIZE: Approximately 1-3/16" in diameter (wing tip juts out ¼").

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Plated brass with enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Two loops.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a French militaria collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MAEX04 LFEJX9/11 SeFHJX12/15

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): The badge shows some light wear and tarnish only; all enamel is intact.
