This is a rare and beautiful French Air Force 259th Observer Squadron badge from the 1920s. The badge is a slender ring supporting a winged insect who holding two periscopes to his eyes. The insect is enameled in vibrant red and orange-yellow.
VINTAGE:Circa 1920s.
SIZE:Approximately 1-3/16" in diameter (wing tip juts out ¼").
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass with enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Two loops.
MARKINGS:None.
