This is a rare circa 1950s US Postal Service Post Office Department employee badge from Flushing (Queens), New York. Flushing is one of the original five towns in Queens County, New York, and was formally recognized as a town in 168Now it is a neighborhood in the borough of Queens, as has been since 189The badge is numbered 778 and is on its original belt hanger.
VINTAGE:Circa 1950s.
SIZE:Badge: approximately 1-3/4" in height and 1-1/2" in width; hanger: 4-5/16" by 2-1/2".
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass, enamel, leather.
ATTACHMENT:Screws with nuts, holes for hanging.
