This is a rare circa 1932 celluloid pin marking the bicentennial of George Washington's birth. Shortly before his death, composer John Philip Sousa wrote and orchestrated a march solely for the grand celebration. Washington, the first President of the United States of America, was born in Virginia on February 22, 1932, and died on December 14, 179The pin is in great condition.
VINTAGE:Circa 1932.
SIZE:Approximately 1-7/16" in diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Celluloid-wrapped tin.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical pin with loop catch.
