This is a rare circa 1930s World War II Fascist Youth Labor Service officer breast badge. Child labor was reintroduced to Italian society under the Mussolini regime. The badge is diamond-shaped and embroidered in goldbullion. It reads SERVIZIO DEL LAVORO (Work Department).
VINTAGE:Circa 1930s World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 2-5/8" in height by 2-1/4" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Silk, wool felt, bullion embroidery, mesh backing.
