This is a rare 1930's New Hampshire Weights and Measures Chief Inspector badge. The badge reads CHIEF INSPECTOR WEIGHTS & MEASURES, N.H. and shows the State of New Hampshire seal with an eagle at top.
This agency had a total of THREE inspectors, and all 3 were absorbed into the newly formed New Hampshire State Police in 1937, making this a direct predecessor badge to the NHSP.
