Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a rare badge for the 387th company of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in Pennsylvania. The badge shows an owl in the forest with CCC on his breast and two crossed axes behind him. The badge reads 387 and CCC in an enamel banner at bottom.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1930s.

SIZE:

7/8" height and 1-1/8" width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Gold-plated brass with red enamel.

ATTACHMENT:

Single-screw pin with disc backing.

MARKINGS:

Apple with an "A" in it maker's mark.
