Description
Circa 1918.
SIZE:Approximately 21-1/2" inch (measured inside of the hat)
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:The hat is wool, the chinstrap and visor are leather, and the chinstrap buttons are covered in silk. The sweatband inside the hat is leather and the liner is silk.
ATTACHMENT:Chin strap.
MARKINGS:This is from a small collection of Royal Air Force artifacts which we will be listing more of over the next few months. CON-JMB-25-2022 LBCIEX08/19/22 RET11/20/23
CONDITION:8- (Excellent): The Hat has a great, Jaunty look, and is very structurally sound for display. Aside form minor moth nips here and there, and some heavy but aesthetically pleasing crazing on the visor and chinstrap, the only real damage on the hat is a tear through the sweat liner at the left (as worn) temple. Overall, it's in excellent condition.
GUARANTEE:As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
