Late WWII Royal Air Force (RAF) Officer Field Service (also Female Officer) Cap Badge

This is a Royal Air Force field service cap badge worn late in World War II by pilot officers through group captains and on the general service cap by female officers. A pilot officer is the equivalent of a US 2nd Lieutenant and a group captain is the equivalent of a US Colonel.

Circa late World War II.

Approximately 2" in height and 1-7/8" in width.

Gold-plated brass with enamel and velvet accents and hemp backing.
