ARTIFACT: This is a Royal Air Force field service cap badge worn late in World War II by pilot officers through group captains and on the general service cap by female officers. A pilot officer is the equivalent of a US 2nd Lieutenant and a group captain is the equivalent of a US Colonel.

VINTAGE: Circa late World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 2" in height and 1-7/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gold-plated brass with enamel and velvet accents and hemp backing.

ATTACHMENT: Three brads.

MARKINGS: N/A.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a British collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VBJX09 LAAEX10/10

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): Badge shows very minimal wear except on reverse.
