ARTIFACT:
This is a rare United States Volunteer Life Saving Corps (USVLSC) lapel pin. The USVLSC existed in fifteen states where there were no federally-run life-saving stations and acted to supplement the U. S. Life Saving Service.
VINTAGE:
Circa 1900's - 1910's.
SIZE:
About 3/4" in width by 15/16" in height.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Gold-plated brass with enamel accents.
ATTACHMENT:
Vertical pin with a tongue type C catch.
