ARTIFACT: Rare and beautiful 1880's – 1890's Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA) award in sterling by O'Neil Jewelers in Cambridge, Mass. The center shows a nicely detailed dogs head and the reverse shows that this example was awarded for "BRAVERY AND INTELLIGENCE". Surrounding the dog it reads: "THE MASSACHUSETTS SOCIETY FOR THE PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS AWARD".

VINTAGE: Circa 1880's - 1890's.

SIZE: Approximately: 1-1/2" x 1-1/8"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Sterling, engraved

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): The medal shows minor wear, handsome patina, overall excellent condition.
