Description
This is a pair of 1880s-1890s Knights Templar Captain General (Masonic) shoulder boards. Styled upon the ancient group of warrior-gentlemen who protected Christian travelers to the holy Land, the Knights Templar is a modern-day fraternal society under the umbrella of Masonry. The boards each feature a rooster, and are embroidered in bullion set against a field of green velvet.
VINTAGE:Circa 1880s-1890s.
SIZE:1-3/4" height and 3-7/8" width each.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Green velvet embroidered in bullion and cotton/silk threads with silk backing.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical safety-style pin on each board.

CONDITION:6 (Fine+): The boards are still intact but show a lot of wear at edges and there are some slightly balding spots on velvet; heavy tarnish on bullion.
