This is a rare and early United States Post Office postal badge from Baltimore, Maryland. This round badge shows a postal carrier with mailbags speeding along on horseback.

Circa 1870s-1880s.

1-7/16" diameter.

Silver-plated nickel.

Vertical pin with come-under catch.

"BALTIMORE POST OFFICE / 1426".
