This is a pair of circa Indian Wars United States Army Cavalry rank straps for either a first or second lieutenant. These were possibly made for state use instead of federal. These straps are salty: they were removed from a uniform found in Arizona. I wish these could talk! The straps are in velvet, wool and golden bullion.
VINTAGE:Circa Indian Wars (1880s).
SIZE:Approximately 4-3/16" by 1-5/8" (each).
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Wool, velvet and bullion, paper tag.
ATTACHMENT:None.
MARKINGS:? 600 on label.
