Description
This is an extremely rare first issue agent wing for Northeast Airlines. It shows a caped pilgrim brandishing a musket straddling a Boeing DC-3 which was the airline's logo immediately following its name change from Boston-Maine Airways. To the right of the logo is a gold wing with a blue enameled panel reading AGENT. This badge comes with some history as it was purchased at the estate sale of Basil Dixwell of Auburn, Maine. Dixwell worked for Boston-Maine Airways as an agent until the airline changed its name to NEA, and then flew as a pilot for the Civilian Air Transport Command in WWII and for Northeast Airlines in the post-war years.
