Description
This is a nice, enameled lapel stud for the Union Veterans Union. The organization was formed in 1886 to promote further camaraderie between Union veterans of the Civil War that some felt was lacking in existing groups such as the GAR and MOLLUS. The pin has a dynamic design with a three-dimensional silver star set against background of alternating primary colors and reads UVU 1861 1865.
VINTAGE:Circa 1890s.
SIZE:11/16" diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass with red, yellow and blue enameling.
ATTACHMENT:Lapel Stud.

CONDITION:8- (Very Fine-Excellent): Front of pin shows very light wear but end of stud is slightly crumpled, but still serviceable.
