ARTIFACT: This is a nice early 20th Century Phillips Exeter Academy soup bowl made by Cauldron Hotel China Co. On the rim of the bowl is a wonderful floral pattern and at the top is the Phillips Exeter Academy crest. In the middle of the bowl is a small oval scene, with Latin words for "Nov. Ban 1781 Stamped Phillips Exeter Academy" around the oval, and the words "Xapiti Oeot (Grace Atheists)" and "Finis Origine Pendet (The end depends upon the beginning)" in the oval

VINTAGE: Early 20th Century

SIZE: Approximately 9" in diameter and 1" tall

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Stamped and Glazed Porcelain

ATTACHMENT: None

MARKINGS: Obverse: "PHILLIPS. NOV HAV 1781 SIGILL PHILLIP EXIESIS ACADEMIAE. XAPITI OEOI. FINIS ORIGINE PENDIT. Reverse: "ENGLAND. CAULDON HOTEL CHINA."

ITEM NOTES: This is from a China and Pottery collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MEX17 LFJX03/17 SFJX4/17

CONDITION: 7- (Very Fine-): The maker stamp on the back is a bit faded and some of the stamped detail is blurry due to possible mishandling during manufacturing, otherwise the bowl is in Very Fine-
