ARTIFACT:
Nice circa 1970 National Order of Vietnam 5th Class or Knight Medal in original box. The blue cardboard box has a silk lining and an insert that holds the medal. The center of the medal features a red circle surrounded by a blue ring with ornate details and alternating green and gilt sections. The medallion is suspended from a red and yellow ribbon. This example was made in Vietnam. The National Order of Vietnam's Knight Badge is considered the highest honor bestowed to an individual by the Vietnamese government. The medal is issued in five degrees, with five being the highest or Knight and the badge is to be worn on the left side of the chest. During the Vietnam War, the government of the Republic of Vietnam awarded some medals to members of the United States military.
