ARTIFACT: Nice 1908 Connecticut National Guard Marksman Medal. The pinback reads: "MARKSMAN 1980" in blue enameled detail, suspended the planchet is a Maltese cross that shows a target in the center with crossed rifles behind with the letters: "C N C" in blue enamel detail and the base shows nice scrolling embellishments which may resemble the three grapevines in the State Seal. The reverse shows the original owner's initials: "CEL" on the reverse and looks to have originally had a ribbon suspended from the top bar.

VINTAGE: Circa 1908

SIZE: Approximately 1-3/4" x 1-1/8"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Enameled gilt copper

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal pin with 'C' type catch and additional bar for suspension ribbon.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a US Army National Guard collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. ebay MBJL15 LAIEX4/16

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The medal shows moderate wear, much of the enamel details remain intact, very fine condition.
