Description
This is a circa 1966 United States Army 5th Special Forces beret flash with a distinctive insignia (DI). The flash is fully embroidered in black, red and yellow. The DI is a scroll with two crossed arrows and bears the motto "De Oppresso Liber" (To Liberate the Repressed). The DI was made by Denmark.
VINTAGE:Circa 1966.
SIZE:Flash: approximately 2-1/8" in height and 1-3/4" in width; DI: approximately 1" in height and 1" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Fully embroidered polyester/cotton: plated brass with enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Two posts with clutch backs.
MARKINGS:D-22 (Denmark maker mark) on reverse of DI.
