ARTIFACT:

This is a Nice Ca 1915 Los Angeles County Deputy Sheriff Bear Top Badge # 4716 by Chipron. This badge is a little later than the other one, with its one-piece saddle pin. 

This badge uses a 2nd die where the design of the front is viewable from the back. Full Chipron stamped maker mark on back.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1915.

SIZE:

Approximately 2-1/4" in height x 1-5/8" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Nickel plated Nickel. Findings are nickel plated brass.

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical safety-style pin.

MARKINGS:

"CHIPRON STAMP CO. 224 W. FIRST ST. LOS ANGELES."
