Ca 1915 Los Angeles County CA Deputy Sheriff "Bear Top" Badge by Chipron

This is an early issue (circa 1914) "Bear Top" Los Angeles County, California deputy sheriff badge. The walking grizzly bear topper on the badge replaced a previously used eagle. The badge has a low number and a Chipron Stamp Company maker mark.

Circa 1914.

Approximately 2-1/8" in height and 1-5/8" in width.

Plated brass, painted lettering.

Vertical kick pin, tongue-style catch.

322 on front; CHIPRON STAMP CO. 224 W. FIRST ST. LOS ANGELES and another CHIPRON mark.
