ARTIFACT:
This is a Nice but VERY faded Italian Made World War II United State Army Air Force 9th Air Force Shoulder Patch in Bullion Silk Felt & Velvet. On first glance, this example appears to be more common, but on close examination, the background area inside the double wire border is velvet! Most of the nap is worn away but it is indeed velvet. This is a most unusual variation for the 9th AF. Certainly a case could be made that this patch is British-made. The inclusion of velvet may point to England.

Circa World War II.

Approximately 3" x 2-7/8.

CONDITION:
4 (Very Good-): The patch has moderate to heavy wear and is faded, but not visually displesing. Still bullion is quite intact, overall Very Good- condition.
