ARTIFACT: This is a stunning, near mint, high-quality World War II Nazi Wehrmacht/SS Silver Grade German Panzer assault badge made by either Adolf Scholze or Adolf Schwerdt (please see "Markings" section below for more details). The badge is a wreathed tank with an eagle and swastika at top.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 2-1/2" in height and 1-5/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Plated zinc with brass & metal findings.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical kick pin on round plates with C catch.

MARKINGS: A.S. within triangle maker's mark. The reverse is well marked with embossed, stylized, overlapping manufacturer's initials in a triangle: "AS", indicating manufacture by either Adolf Scholze of GrŸnwald or Adolf Schwerdt of Stuttgart. The debate continues.
