Minty, High Quality Panzer Assault Badge in Scarce Bronze Grade by A.S.

This is a near mint, high-quality World War II German Panzer assault badge in a scarce bronze grade made by A.S. (please see "Markings" section below for details). The badge is an oval wreath of oak leaves framing a tank, with an eagle and swastika at its top.

Circa World War II.

Approximately 2-7/16" in height and 1-11/16" in width.

Bronze with brass & metal findings.

Vertical kick pin with "C" catch.

A.S. maker's mark. The reverse is well marked with embossed, stylized, overlapping manufacturer's initials in a triangle: "AS", indicating manufacture by either Adolf Scholze of GrŸnwald or Adolf Schwerdt of Stuttgart. The debate continues..
