This is a minty United States Army Model 1903 canteen strap by Rock Island Arsenal (RIA). Now a national historic landmark, Rock Island Arsenal on the Mississippi River between Iowa and Illinois is America's largest government-owned manufacturer of weaponry. The strap is dated 1904.
VINTAGE:Circa 1903-1904.
SIZE:Approximately 1" in width and 12-1/4" in length (end to end).
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Canvas, metal.
ATTACHMENT:Three hooks, two open and one locking.
MARKINGS:F.S. R.I.A. 1904.
