ARTIFACT: This is a large circa mid-1950s United States Army 593rd Field Artillery Battalion pocket patch. The 593rd was attached to the 36th Field Artillery Group, and was stationed at Babenhausen, Germany. The patch displays the battalion's motto, MOVE AND FIRE, beneath twin mountain peaks and a pink sky full of lightning bolts. The patch is German-made.

VINTAGE: Circa mid-1950s.

SIZE: Approximately 4-5/16" in height and 4" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Cotton with some areas fully embroidered in silk/cotton threads, mesh backing.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: 593 FA Bn hand-written on reverse.

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): The patch shows only very light wear.< p>
