Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a mid-1950s figural metal coin bank by Banthrico Inc. of the Dover Co-Op Bank in Dover, New Hampshire. The bank, which began in 1890 and hanged names a few times, was located in the Walker Building for years, at the corner of Locust and Washington streets. The building was three stories until 1954.

VINTAGE:

Circa mid-1950s.

SIZE:

Approximately 2-1/2" in height and 4-1/4" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Metal.

ATTACHMENT:

Screws in bottom to remove plate.

MARKINGS:

BANTHRICO INC. CHICAGO, U.S.A.
